Enhancing the lives of older adults through evidence-based practice.

What is Gerontology?

Gerontology is the study of the aging process and issues related to an aging society. The Gerontology program prepares students with an emphasis on coordination and administration of services for older adults at the local, state, and national level.

Graduates are equipped for leadership positions and are prepared to apply research and theory to address the needs of older adults.

The Gerontology program is a part of the School of Health and Human Sciences and also the Department of Social Work at UNC Greensboro.
